Stolen Truck And Drugs Found In Angola

(ANGOLA) – A stolen truck and drugs were located early Sunday morning in Angola.

The Indiana State Police say shortly after 2 AM, the Angola Police Department were sent out a dispatch on the description of a stolen truck that had been seen traveling on North Wayne Street. Officers located the truck in the parking lot of the Shell gas station near North Wayne Street and Harcourt Street. The driver and occupant of the truck were being detained by Angola Police until Indiana State Troopers could arrive on the scene.

During the investigation the driver gave false identifying information to Angola Police and to the Troopers. An Indiana State Police K-9 was also on scene and alerted to an illegal substance in the vehicle. A probable cause search of the stolen truck yielded suspected marijuana. The passenger was also found to be in possession of illegal drugs as suspected methamphetamine
was found on her person.

After further investigation the driver was identified as 45 year old Stephen Dunn of Silver Springs, Florida, and the passenger was identified as 32 year old Danni Nickols of Ashley.

Dunn was arrested on felony charges of auto theft and identity deception; along with misdemeanor counts of false identity statement, possession of marijuana, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, false informing, possession of paraphernalia and on a fugitive warrant out of Florida.

Nickols was arrested on a felony count of possession of methamphetamine along with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

Both are being held in the Steuben County Jail.
