Traffic Stop Leads To Arrests On Drugs And Weapons Charges

(FREMONT) – Three people have been arrested on drug and weapon charges following a traffic stop.

Indiana State Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-69 near Fremont just before 8 PM Tuesday. While talking to the driver, troopers smelled marijuana. A probable cause search was done on the vehicle. Troopers recovered several packages of suspected marijuana, a handgun and a rifle. Both firearms had been reported stolen.

All three occupants were arrested. 41 year old Demarcus Rogers of Fort Wayne is charged with a felony count of theft of a firearm; along with misdemeanor counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment and possession of marijuana. 37 year old Kamari Rogers and 44 year old Daymond Rogers, both of Fort Wayne, are each charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.

Assisting at the scene were the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
