(ANGOLA) – A City of Angola staff member has finished an important course of study.

Angola Mayor David Martin says Retha Hicks, Director of Economic Development and Planning, has completed the Indiana Certified Public Manager Program. Hicks graduated from this program on Tuesday, earning the national recognition accreditation of Certified Public Manager.

The Indiana Certified Public Manager Program is a professional development initiative designed for government and nonprofit professionals. This course prepares public managers to effectively meet the challenges of public service through the study of public management theories and best practices.

Martin says Hicks began this course in September of 2024 and is now among a distinguished group of City of Angola employees who have successfully completed the program.
