(LAGRANGE) – The LaGrange County Council has approved an increase in the Innkeepers Tax.
During Monday’s meeting, the Council was presented with a resolution to increase their Innkeepers Tax from 5% to 8%. The State of Indiana approved legislation, allowing for counties to increase their innkeeper’s tax up to 8% if they wanted to.
Councilman Ryan Riegsecker, who also sits on the County Tax Commission, says this is good move for LaGrange County. ...... {LISTEN}.
The Innkeepers tax is a tax on the rental of rooms and accommodations for periods of less than 30 days. Riegsecker gives an overview on where the tax cam be applied. ...... {LISTEN}.
