Six Individuals Arrested For Violating Sex Offender Registry Laws

(ANGOLA) – Six individuals have been arrested for alleged violations of Indiana's Sex And Violent Offender Registry Laws.

Steuben County Chief Deputy Sheriff Michael Meeks says the investigations into these allegations started in September, resulting in arrest warrants being issued on or about December 18.

Deputies arrested 47 year old Lowell Luke Schroeder III of Angola, on 2 felony counts of Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender. Schroeder has since posted a bond and has been released.

Also arrested was 48 year old Matthew Scott Leland of Angola. He is charged with 1 felony count of Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender and a misdemeanor count of Failure of Offender to Possess ID. Leland was arrested in Butler, Indiana with the assistance of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and Butler Police. He has also posted bond and has been released.

Deputies arrested 59 year old Gordon Jay Walkinhood of Coldwater on a felony count of Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender. Walkinhood was able to post bond and has been released.

40 year old Clinton Oscar Williams of Kendallville was arrested on a felony charge of Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender. Williams was arrested in Butler, Indiana with the assistance of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office. Williams remains held in the Steuben County Jail with bond set at $3,000.

Also, 43 year old Steven Michael Sage of Angola was arrested on a felony count of Failure to Register as a Sex or Violent Offender. Sage posted bond and has been released.

63 year old Frank Leroy Vacek of Fremont was arrested on a felony charge of Failure of Offender to Possess ID. Vacek remains held on a $3,000 bond.
