A 15-year tenured business in Auburn has broken ground on a new building.
On Tuesday afternoon, construction officially begun on a new building at Get Bent Custom Exhaust & Undercar Service located at 313 North Grandstaff Drive.
Among those in attendance were owners Harry Riley, Jr. and Darvin Riley along with several other employees and family members along with Auburn Mayor, Mike Ley.
Riley talked about how the new space will very beneficial in the long run. While the space Get Bent currently operates out of is bigger in size, the new building will be in many ways much more efficient which has been a goal of Riley's from the start.)
As a native Auburn resident, car culture is something that resides within everyone the community. From the rich automobile history of the area, to the various museums and shows, and to everything else in between Riley talks about how much it means to be able to pursue this new chapter of the business.
"It means the world to us, we grew up here and we know what it (cars) mean to the community and its what largely turned us to this business," Riley stated.
Get Bent first opened in 2004 and now operates on Wayne Street and specializes in stock and custom automotive exhausts, brakes, steering, suspension, alignments and minor engine repairs.
Plans for thew building indicate the goal of opening and operating some time in late July.
