(INDIANAPOLIS) – Unemployment went up around Northeast Indiana from April to May.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says unemployment went up in LaGrange County from 2.5% to 3%. Noble County increased from 2.7% to 3.3%, while Steuben County went up from 3% to 3.5%.
DeKalb County saw an increase from 2.7% to 3.1% and Allen County went from 2.8% to 3.2%.
Cities in Northeast Indiana also saw an increase in their unemployment from April to May. Elkhart went from 3.7% to 4.2%. Goshen increased from 3.1% to 3.6% and Fort Wayne went p from 2.8% to 3.3%.
Statewide the unemployment rated dropped from 3.9% to 3.7%.
