(DEKALB COUNTY) – Two people were injured in a two vehicle crash.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, 41 year old Joshua Patton of Auburn was traveling west in the 500 block of U.S. 6 just after 12 PM when he lost control of his vehicle due to the slick road conditions. He crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided head on with a school bus being driven by 34 year old Sara King of Auburn.
The school bus went off the road and down a steep embankment while Patton’s auto stopped just off the road.
Both Patton and his passenger, 46 year old Tara Jordan of Waterloo, were trapped inside the vehicle and were removed by the Corunna Fire Department. Patton had a broken leg and Jordan had head and facial lacerations. They were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
King was not injured, and was the only occupant of the bus.
The Indiana State Police and Parkview DeKalb EMS assisted at the scene.
