(ELKHART) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a weekend stabbing incident.
The Elkhart Police Department says officers were called to the Washington Gardens Apartments just before 6 AM Sunday on reports of two suspicious men walking in the area. While officers attempted to locate the men in the 300 block of Wagner Avenue, they were approached by a 19 year old man suffering from a stab wound.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was treated. The wound is said to be non life threatening.
A short time later, officers apprehended and detained 20 year old Quantrell Moore of Elkhart. They later arrested him on a preliminary charge of battery with a deadly weapon. Court officials found probable cause for his arrest.
Moore is being held in the Elkhart County Jail with bond set at $25,000.
The case has been sent to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for review and a determination of formal criminal charges.
