(DEKALB COUNTY) – A Butler man was injured in a weekend ATV accident.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says at 1 AM Sunday, deputies responded to a report of a man who crashed his 4 wheeler at the intersection of County Road 26 and County Road 79. When they arrived, deputies found an ATV in the middle of the intersection, and the driver, 45 year old Jade Hewitt, lying next to the vehicle, with blood coming from the back of his head.
Hewitt was taken to an area hospital to be treated for lacerations to the back of the head.
The investigation determined the ATV skidded and Hewitt was thrown from the vehicle. It’s believed that alcohol and speed were major contributors to the accident.
Assisting at the scene were the Butler Police and Fire Department along with Parkview EMS.
