AUBURN — The trail of a Marion man on trial for the murder of Indiana State Trooper has continued in DeKalb County Superior Court.
Terry Dewaine Sands II is on trail for the murder of Indiana State Police Master Trooper James R. Bailey for a crash that took place on Interstate 69 between exits S.R. 8 and C.R. 11A in March 2023.
Sands appeared in DeKalb Superior Court I where he entered a negotiated plea agreement.
Court documents out of DeKalb County state Sand is being charged with murder along with charges of resisting law enforcement, causing death to a law enforcement officer, a Level 2 felony; operating a vehicle with a controlled substance resulting in death, a Level 4 felony; and resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor.
