MARSHALL TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The name of the Coldwater man who was killed on Thursday in a Calhoun County crash has been released by the Michigan State Police.
Michigan State Police from the Marshall post identified the victim as Zachary Ostrom, 27, of Coldwater.
Online records from the MSP state Ostrom was heading west on Michigan Avenue near 12 Mile Road when his vehicle went left of center and collided with an eastbound car driven by a 33-year-old Richland man.
The driver of the second vehicle attempted to avoid Ostrom's car but was able to do so.
Ostrom was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Richland man suffered minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital.
