SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – One person was killed in a one vehicle crash in Branch County’s Sherwood Township.
Michigan State Police were called to investigate a crash that happened just after 12 AM Friday on Oliverda Road, south of Blossom Road.
Troopers determined that the driver, a 55 year old Sherwood man, was driving his vehicle north on Oliverda Road when it crossed the center line, went off the road and struck a tree head on.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
A front seat passenger, the driver’s son, was not injured and wearing his seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation. Assisting Troopers were the Sherwood Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance.
