ANGOLA - The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) is seeking a community member with a keen interest in history to join their board.
During Monday's Common Council meeting at City Hall, Mayor Dave Martin noted the HPC has room for a new member.
The Common Council approved to renew the terms of two current HPC board members Claudia Camargo and Hope Wilson.
They approved to extend Camargo and Wilson's terms from January 1, 2024 until December 31, 2026.
After the approval of the terms was passed unanimously by the Common Council, Martin mentioned there was an open seat on the HPC board.
Mayor Martin told WLKI HPC members are appointed by the mayor and approved by majority vote of Angola Common Council.
"We look for a member of the community that has an interest in the history, appearance, and character of Angola’s historic preservation area," said Mayor Martin.
Community members with interest in the HPC can apply at the Angola Mayor's Office located at City Hall, 210 N Public Square.
