HOWE, IN - A Fremont woman was critically injured after a two-vehicle crash on the Indiana Toll Road Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened just before 2 p.m. in LaGrange County
Authorities say a SVU crashed into the back of a 2018 Freightliner semi.
The semi was stopped in traffic when 35-year-old Whitney Welling crashed into it.
Reports indicate Welling was trapped in the wreckage. She was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne after medics treated her on the scene. Her injuries were listed as critical.
Welling was wearing a seatbelt and an airbag was deployed.
The driver of the semi was not injured during the crash.
Tire debris reportedly caused traffic to slow down on the toll road.
The incident remains under investigation.
