ANGOLA, IN - Organizers of a mock crash that was conducted at Angola High School Tuesday say the event made an impact on local students.
The Steuben County Sheriff's Office, Angola City Police Department and Indiana State Police helped oversee the simulation and portrayal of a fatal vehicle crash. Student actors from Trine University role-played in order to educate students on the life altering consequences caused by distracted and impaired driving.
Police Officers along with emergency staff with the Angola Fire Department, Steuben County EMS, Steuben County Emergency Management, Lutheran Air, and the Steuben County Coroner took part by showing the role the play when the display plays out in a real life setting.
Bill’s Professional Towing and Johnson’s Funeral Home were also active participants in the mock event.
WLKI News even prepared a recorded news cast that summed up the injuries, which included one death, and the legal consequences of the mock crash had it been a real life tragedy.
