STURGIS TOWNSHIP – Authorities have found a stolen car, and arrested a person in connection with the theft.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says his department put out a media release on April 30 regarding a stolen 2013 Buick Encore from the 26,000 block of Fawn River Road in Sturgis Township.
Later that day, the Sturgis Police Department located the vehicle on Chicago Road. The suspect driving the stolen vehicle, a 35 year old White Pigeon man, was taken into custody for stealing the automobile, and a related breaking and entering to a barn, which also happened in the 26,000 block of Fawn River Road. Lillywhite says his deputies executed a search warrant in the 11,000 block of Riverside Drive in Mottville Township. They were able to recover stolen property related to the vehicle theft and the break in.
The suspect is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail. Assisting with the investigation were the Sturgis Police Department and the LaGrange County Sheriff's Office.
