(UNDATED) – Severe storms moved through Southern Michigan and Northern Indiana, leaving people without power, and damage in their wake.
Sturgis City Manager Andrew Kuk says City electric crews worked throughout the night and have power restored to all but 300 customers. He says further restorations are still anticipated to take time as they are small, sporadic outages around town.
Kuk says if you have a power outage at your residence, please call the Sturgis Outage Line at 269-659-7255.
Consumer’s Energy is reporting that 1,316 of their customers in St. Joseph County are without power. Restoration efforts are continuing and officials are saying everyone should be fully restored by later this afternoon.
Branch County was also hit hard by the storms. The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities says many of their customers are without power as two of their three incoming transmission lines are down, leaving one in working order.
Consumer’s Energy says they have 3,980 of their Branch County customers without power due to the storm. They are saying that power should be restored by mid to late afternoon today.
