Glen Oaks hires Emilee Hendron As Women’s Basketball Coach
Saturday, October 5, 2024

(CENTREVILLE) – There will be a new coach for the Glen Oaks Community College women’s basketball team for the 2024-2025 season. Glen Oaks is pleased to announce the hiring of Emilee Hendron (Komins), who will guide the women’s basketball team as interim head coach this season. She steps in after the recent resignation of former head coach Robbie Hattan, who accepted the varsity boys basketball head coaching position at Battle Creek Pennfield High School. Hendron played volleyball, basketball and ran track and field at Constantine High School (2004-08) and was a key player for the Kalamazoo Valley Community College women’s basketball team as a shooting guard from 2008-10. After college, Hendron coached the Constantine junior varsity girls team before working as a private basketball instructor. Most recently, she spent three years overseeing the junior varsity girls program at Colon High School. Hendron was an All-State selection in basketball as a senior point guard for the Falcons, who won a district championship that season for the first time in a decade. Hendron was also named District Tournament Most Valuable Player. At KVCC, Hendron was a two-time National Junior College Athletic Association Division II All-Academic Team honoree. Her freshman year with the Cougars resulted in a trip to the national tournament and a 25-7 overall record. Hendron will be assisted by her husband Sean and former Constantine and Glen Oaks standout Hannah Outlaw. The Vikings kick off the 2024-25 season on November 1 at the Southwestern Michigan College Roadrunner Classic.
