(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has issued an Air Quality Action Day on Tuesday for Northern Indiana.

Fine particulate matter levels are expected to be in the Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups Range (Orange) in the following areas: Northeast Indiana, including the cities of LaGrange, Angola, Auburn, Decatur and Fort Wayne, along with North Central Indiana, including the cities of Elkhart, Goshen, South Bend and Warsaw, and for Northwest Indiana.

Canadian wildfire smoke circulation in the region will be pulled into Indiana on Tuesday. Fine Particulate monitor readings will increase across Northern Indiana as the plume of smoke moves across the region.

IDEM forecasted Air Quality Action Days indicate anticipated higher levels of ground-level ozone and fine particulate matter only. Other factors may affect overall air quality.
