AUBURN - The Auburn Birthing Center closed Thursday at 12:01 a.m.
A Facebook post from the Auburn Birthing Center stated they, "will be closed beginning February 1, 2024 at 12:01am."
"Thank you to everyone who has supported ABC."
The birthing center, which has been active over two decades, after Parkview DeKalb Hospital closed its labor and delivery unit on September 22, 2023.
Community members and employees of ABC have been scrambling since September in order to raise the fund to boy the center so it could remain open, but privately owned.
Many are still hopeful the closure will only be temporary and fund raising efforts are still active.
