(ANGOLA) - The Steuben County Democratic Party is hosting a community sign-making event this Sunday aimed at preparing for upcoming protests and building local activism.
The event, known as "Pizza for Protests," invites residents to gather for an afternoon of poster-making, conversation, and pizza at the Pleasant Township Trustee Center, located at 2510 North County Road 200 West in Angola. The gathering is open to the public and free to attend, though registration is required.
Organizers say the event will support protest efforts for the local Democratic Party as well as Showing Up for Racial Justice, a nationwide group that works to engage white communities in racial and economic justice efforts. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own sign-making supplies, while pizza and soft drinks will be provided.
Donations collected during the event will be used to purchase shared protest equipment such as megaphones, speakers, and noisemakers.
The Steuben County Democratic Party holds public meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Angola.
