(ANGOLA) – The Steuben County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for patrol deputy positions through June 19.
The department says the starting base salary for 2026 is $67,727.71, plus benefits including the sheriff's pension plan, specialty pay and paid overtime.
The Sheriff's Office also offers a take-home vehicle program and specialty opportunities including K-9 handler, Special Response Tactical Team member and summer Marine Patrol assignments.
Patrol deputies work 12-hour shifts with every other three-day weekend off.
Applications and a job description can be downloaded at the Steuben County Sheriff's Office website, or picked up at the Sheriff's Office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Completed applications must be returned to the Chief Deputy by the close of business on June 19. Applications may be emailed to mmeeks@co.steuben.in.us or delivered to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office at 206 E. Gale Street in Angola.
