(FORT WAYNE) - The Trine University Choir will join the First Wayne Street Sanctuary Choir for a free concert Sunday, March 22, in Fort Wayne.
The performance, titled "Songs to Soothe the Soul," begins at 2:30 p.m. at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, 300 East Wayne Street.
The concert will feature choral music by female composers including Gwyneth Walker, Elaine Hagenberg and Sarah Quartel. Fort Wayne Philharmonic cellist Brian Klickman will also perform.
Both choirs are led by Geoffrey North, who serves as Trine University's director of choral studies and music director at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church.
Trine music program director Brad Jopek said the collaboration gives students a chance to perform alongside adult and professional musicians while strengthening community ties through music.
Parking will be available at the church, with additional parking at the Town Center Parking Garage.
