(BRONSON) - Consumers Energy has finished a major power line upgrade aimed at improving electric reliability in Branch County.
The project rebuilt about 2½ miles of lines along U.S. 12 between Bronson and Bethel Township, replacing aging poles and equipment with stronger materials and updated technology designed to better withstand severe weather.
Officials said the work is part of the company's long-term plan to modernize Michigan's electric grid and reduce outages. Crews completed the project after several months of construction that began last fall.
