Garrett Railroader Hall of Fame Basketball star, Chuck Bavis passed away this past Saturday at the age of 71.
The seven-footer led the Railroaders to three amazing season in 1963, 1964, and 1965 before going on to play two seasons for the Purdue Boilermakers before an injury ended his career.
Bavis led Garrett to a state record 21 wins in a row as the streak was ultimately ended in a regional contest were Bavis scored 27 points. Bavis will be missed by basketball fans all across the state.
