(ANGOLA) – A fugitive wanted on multiple charges in Steuben County has been located and arrested in Florida.

Steuben County Chief Deputy Sheriff Michael Meeks says on March 20 at 11:30 AM, 48 year old Tyron Jackson was located and taken into custody without incident by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Jackson had been a fugitive for the past six months after arrest warrants were issued by the Steuben County Courts in connection with three separate cases.

In one case, Jackson was wanted on two counts of Level 3 felony rape and two counts of Level 4 felony sexual misconduct with a minor.

The second case yielded one count of misdemeanor invasion of privacy and the third case a count of misdemeanor domestic battery.

All three incidents were investigated by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and had allegedly occurred in August of 2024 in Steuben Township.

Jackson is still being held in Florida, awaiting extradition back to Indiana. Meeks says this arrest is a culmination of a long joint fugitive investigation by the Steuben County Detectives and the U.S. Marshals Service.
