(DEKALB COUNTY) – One person was injured in a motorcycle accident over the weekend.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says 63 year old Gareth Jones of Fort Wayne was driving his motorcycle north in the 5300 block of State Road 1 just after 1:30 PM Sunday at a speed of 60 to 65 MPH. Jones says a deer ran out in front of him and he struck the animal, with the motorcycle falling onto it’s side.
Jones had road rash on his knees and hips along with shoulder pain. He was taken to an area hospital to be treated, and is in stable condition.
The Concord Volunteer Fire Department, Butler Fire Department and Parkview EMS assisted at the scene.
