COLDWATER – A new video surveillance system has been approved for Coldwater Community Schools.

On Monday, April 22 the Board of Education for Coldwater Community Schools approved a proposal from Alliance Electric for the updating and expansion of the video security system.

The updates will cost the district over $204,000 and will be paid through funds from the school safety grant.

Security cameras at Coldwater High School, Legg Middle School, Jefferson Elementary and Max Larsen Elementary will be updated with grant.

Alliance Electric worked closely with the district’s technology department and Mark Knaack, the project consultant, to assess the needs of the district.

Alliance Electric is partnered with Digital Watchdog Hardware and Software.

The CCS board also approved the separate purchase of new servers and network switches as part of the camera upgrades.

The board approved a quote of $11,190 from InaCOMP TSG for the network switches.

The new servers from Dell Depot are estimated to cost $18,000 and will also be paid for with funds from the districts' safety grant.
