A Syracuse man was arrested after a tri-county pursuit in Kosciusko, Whitley and Noble counties Thursday.
Law enforcement units were notified of a vehicle with a wanted subject for burglary, a Level 5 felony; and theft, a Level 6 felony, traveling eastbound on U.S. 30 in western Kosciusko County at about 5 p.m. Thursday.
An off-duty Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy reportedly located the Lincoln MKZ at County Road 150 West. Reports indicate the MKZ failed to stop for the responding law enforcement officers and a pursuit thereafter ensued.
The driver of the Lincoln, later identified as Randall Earl Koth, age 47 of Syracuse, released two female passengers near County Road 200 North before continuing eastbound on U.S. 30 to Indiana 13.
Authorities say Koth traveled northbound on 13 to Old 30, causing off-road damage to a cemetery. Koth then led officers to Indiana 5 and fled from the vehicle after stopping along Epworth Forest Road, west of County Road 875 East.
Following a brief foot chase, Randall Koth was taken into custody in a wooded area, stated the release.
Officers located multiple narcotics inside of the vehicle following the pursuit. Additionally, Koth led investigators to the recovery of items from approximately 20 burglaries in the Syracuse, North Webster, Milford and Warsaw areas.
This investigation remains ongoing. Additional charges against Koth are pending.
Responding agencies included KCSO, Warsaw Police Department, Pierceton Police Department, Indiana State Police, North Webster Police Department, Whitley County Sheriff Department, Noble County Sheriff Department, Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory and Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
