BETHEL TOWNSHIP, MI – A Bronson man lost his life on Sunday morning in a crash on Gilead Lake Road south of Schmidt Road in Bethel Township.

According to the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, Rod Wendell Hathaway, age 83 of Bronson, was killed in the crash which took place at around 10 a.m. Reports indicate he was driving a 2020 Polaris Ranger north on Gilead Lake Road when he crossed the center line, went off the road and struck a tree.

Hathaway was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

This accident remains under investigation.
