Topeka Physicians Office Temporarily Closes Due to COVID-19 Exposure

TOPEKA, IN - A doctors office in Topeka has been closed due to issues surrounding the coronavirus.

The LaGrange County Health Department has announced that Dr. John Egli's office is temporarily closed due to exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Officials in LaGrange say it is a recommendation from the State Department of Health that whenever one or more (in this case more) have tested positive if the majority of the employees, clients have been exposed that they remain closed for 14 days and be tested. This is so the virus is not spread through even more people because perpetually all of those could test positive or carry the virus once they are exposed to a positive case.

LaGrange County Health officials say area hospitals have been notified and are taking precautions.

The LaGrange County Health Department was not able to say how many people have been exposed, or how many people have tested positive for the virus. Other sources have revealed that Dr. Egli himself has tested positive for COVID-19, and has been admitted to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment.

Dr. John A Egli is a Family Medicine Specialist in Topeka, Indiana with 48 years experience. Dr. Egli affiliates with many hospitals including Parkview Noble Hospital, Parkview Lagrange Hospital, and cooperates with many other doctors and specialists in various medical groups.
