Friday, June 12, 2020

In Auburn Mayor Mike Ley's blog post that was made earlier this week, the newly elected Auburn Mayor addressed several areas of concern that residents within the city have wanted addressed.

One of which is the working on solving the issue with feral cats within the city. Ley talked of meetings last week with the DeKalb Humane Society, the Allen County SPCA and other volunteers. In the coming weeks, the goal will be to start a TNR (Trap Neuter Return) program, something that has been successful in many communities and the Mayor believes it is a step in the right direction to help address the feral cat problem in the city.

In edition, Ley also talked about the cities Pandemic Recovery program, which said he is "pleased that our community and state continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The virus is not eradicated so I encourage you to still follow CDC guidelines and use good judgement." The Mayor also reiterated to please consider supporting local businesses as they open up, as well as the many community organizations who continue to help those greatly impacted by the pandemic.
