ANGOLA – The COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation has led the YMCA of Steuben County to take precautions for the safety and well-being of their members, staff, volunteers and the community.
In a news release late Wednesday afternoon, Sarah Funkhouser, CEO of the YMCA of Steuben County, said in order to best ensure the health of their entire Y community, they have decided to close the Y-facility to the public. The closure became effective starting at 5 p.m. Monday evening. The Y will remain closed until at least April 3rd (2020).
Funkhouser said even while their doors are closed, the Y wants to continue to be a resource for the community to maintain their health and well-being needs. She advises citizens to visit the Y’s website and Facebook, where they will provide FREE wellness resources including online group fitness classes from YMCA 360, workout routines.
Funkhouser also said the Y will provide additional updates and information directly to staff, members and participants via email.
