Thursday, January 16, 2020

A recent statement has come out from the Ohio State Medicaid Director, Maureen Corcoran that blames former Ohio Governor, John Kasich in regards to the Buckeye State's Medicaid system suffers from high payment error rates, problems determining eligibility, as well as several other issues.

Other problems identified include incorrect renewal dates, privacy breaches such as people receiving information about others, and incorrectly linking newborns to people who weren’t are their actual parents.

Corcoran said in a memo to Governor Mike DeWine this week, she inherited the issues and found them to be “a mess” caused by the previous administration, and the failure to fix problems could cost Ohio billions in federal penalties.

The joint state and federal program provides health care for poor families and children across the state.
