(HILLSDALE) - A Hillsdale County man has died after falling through the ice on Lake Somerset over the weekend.
The man, identified as Chuck Fausak was reported missing Saturday after he failed to return home from walking his dogs. Multiple agencies launched a search Saturday evening, with a Michigan State Police helicopter assisting Sunday morning.
Just before noon Sunday, authorities discovered that Fausak had fallen through the ice on Lake Somerset. The Hillsdale County Sheriff's Department Dive Rescue
Team recovered his body from the water.
Investigators say it is unclear why Fausak was on the ice. The incident remains under investigation.
