(INDIANA) - As winter weather moves in, warming centers across Indiana are open to help anyone who needs a safe, warm place to stay. State officials are urging residents to connect with Indiana 211 for the most up-to-date list of locations and hours in their area.

Getting help is simple:

• Call 2-1-1 -- or 1-866-211-9966 -- to speak with a Community Navigator. Phone assistance is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Text your ZIP Code to 898-211 to receive a list of nearby warming centers. Text service runs Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Search online anytime at IN211.org, where the full database of warming centers is available.

Organizations that want to add or update a warming center can email Indiana 211's resource team at in211database@fssa.in.gov.

Officials say no one should be left out in the cold--help is just a call, text, or click away.
