Troopers Seize $500K Worth Of Meth During I-70 Semi Inspection

(PUTNAM COUNTY) - Indiana State Police seized an estimated $500,000 worth of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Interstate 70 in Putnam County.

Troopers stopped a Freightliner semi around 4:20 p.m. Saturday near mile marker 41, outside Cloverdale, for a Department of Transportation compliance inspection.

During the inspection, officers reported observing criminal indicators, leading to a probable cause search of the truck.

Police say the search uncovered approximately 100 pounds of methamphetamine inside the trailer.

The driver, 33-year-old Kemar Brown of San Bernardino, California, was arrested and taken to the Putnam County Jail.

He faces preliminary charges of dealing methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony.
