(LAFAYETTE) - Police have made a sixth arrest in the investigation into the targeted shooting of Judge Steven Meyer and his wife at their home last month.

The Lafayette Police Department confirmed that Nevaeh Bell, 23, of Lafayette, was taken into custody without incident. She faces multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated battery, intimidation, and obstruction of justice.

Investigators say the Jan. 18 shooting at the judge's home on Mill Pond Lane was part of a broader conspiracy involving at least six people. Court documents indicate the judge was allegedly targeted because he was set to preside over the upcoming trial of Thomas Moss, whom investigators describe as a high-ranking member of the Phantom Motorcycle Club.

Police believe Raylen Ferguson carried out the shooting, while others allegedly helped plan, finance, and conceal the crime. Prosecutors say Bell was involved in planning discussions and allegedly provided money and materials used in the plot.

Five other suspects were previously charged with crimes ranging from attempted murder to bribery and obstruction of justice.

The investigation remains active as the case moves through the court system.
