LAGRANGE, IN - A man and four boys were injured after their buggy was rear-ended by a box truck.
According to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred at just before 9 a.m. Monday morning.
Authorities said in a report that all five of the buggy’s occupants were from Wolcottville. First units on the scene reportedly found them all on the side of the highway with injuries.
The two of the boys, ages 10 and 2, were taken to an area hospital with head injuries. The other boys, ages 8 and 4, and the 33-year-old driver, identified as Lamar Graber, had injuries that were less serious.
The driver of the box truck, Stephen Donaldson, age 27 of Delphos, Ohio, was not injured. Investigators say was adjusting his GPS and did not see the buggy in front of him slowing down. He told deputies that he tried to brake to avoid the collision, but struck the back of the buggy.
