Universal School Choice A New Debate Between Hoosier Law Makers

Indiana lawmakers are debating over whether they should bring universal school choice to Hoosier students and parents.

A move in that direction would potentially bring long-term cost to the state. Testimony heard in the Senate education committee raised questions about how much universal education scholarship accounts would cost. Another consideration is whether the state can afford to fund all students who are eligible to participate.

Universal school of choice would be separate than the state’s voucher program, known as Choice Scholarships.
