A Northeast Indiana Politician Is Considering A Run For Jim Banks’ Spot After Banks Announces Senate Run

INDIANAPOLIS — Earlier this week Congressman Jim Banks announced his campaign to represent Indiana in the U.S. Senate.

He was the first candidate to announce running for the seat that will become vacant when first-term Senator Mike Braun, R-Ind., announced he would run for Indiana governor in 2024.

With Banks moving up I. The world of politics, State Sen. Andy Zay says he is considering running for Banks' 3rd District seat.

Andy Zay already followed Jim Banks in office once before. Zay was appointed to fill Banks’ state senate seat, and now he’s considering a run to try to follow Banks again as the next U.S. Representative for northeast Indiana.

Zay is Republican state senator from Huntington who represents District 17.
