Lower Gas Prices May Bring More Joy To The Holidays

Lower gas prices may be bringing some more cheers to the holidays.

According to GasBuddy's survey of 3,271 stations in Indiana, average gasoline prices in Indiana have fallen 18.2 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.04 a gallon Monday.

Prices in Indiana are 81.6 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 2.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. According to a news release, the national average price of diesel has fallen 14.1 cents in the last week and stands at $4.77 per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline has fallen 11.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.09 a gallon Monday. The national average is down 57.1 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 20.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering more than 150,000 gas stations across the country.
