(DOWAGIAC) – Two people have been arrested on drug and weapons charges.

On Wednesday, the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at an address in the 100 block of Haines Street in Dowagiac. During the search, detectives found a man and a woman and detained them for questioning.

Detectives located a large amount of methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia along with several firearms, inside of the residence.

A 38 year old woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, and maintaining a drug house. A 62 year old man was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, felony firearm, possession of a silencer, outstanding warrants, and maintaining a drug house.

The suspect’s name are being withheld pending arraignment on the charges in Cass County District Court.

Assisting with the search were the Cass County Sheriff's Office, the Dowagiac Police and Fire Departments, Dowagiac Police K-9 Officer Tole, and the Pokagon Tribal Police.
