ANGOLA, IN - A semi-truck fire was put out after crews worked to extinguish flames along I-69 North in Steuben County Wednesday morning.

The Angola Fire Department was called just after 5 a.m. about a semi-truck on fire in the northbound lanes of I-69, near the Lake James exit. Crews had the fire under control by about 5:56 a.m.

Investigators believe a mechanical issue caused the fire, and no serious injuries were reported.

The incident blocked the right northbound lane Wednesday morning as crews worked to clear the scene.

Responding units included several from Steuben County and the city of Angola.

Bills Professional Towing assisted by removing the mostly burned up unit after crews were able to put out the fire.
