Smith-Green Community Schools Going to Virtual Learning
By: Sheila McCrea - Tuesday, August 24, 2021

CHURUBUSCO, IN - Students at Smith-Green Community Schools will return to virtual learning on Wednesday as the school district works to stem the spread of COVID-19 there.

School officials informed staff and families of the move on Monday. The notification included a video posted to YouTube explaining the reasons for the change.

According to the school’s statement, a "large percentage" of staff and students face quarantine because of recent COVID-19 cases.

The district will go "virtual" on Wednesday and plans to return students to the classroom on Tuesday, September 7th.

Families will receive more detail on the process from their child's teacher.

Churubusco High School is part of the Smith-Green school district and a member of the Northeast Corner Conference. At this time it’s not known how this change in their school year will affect their athletic teams who play most all of the teams at area Steuben County schools.
