PARK TOWNSHIP – Park Township residents have taken a step to get updates done to some of their roads.
On Tuesday, they approved a one-half mill request for four years with 186 YES votes and 132 NO votes cast. It's anticipated that the millage will generate over $72,000 per year until 2024. Township officials say they will meet with the St. Joseph County Road Commission this Fall and put together a list of the roads they want to work on. The Township has talked about Lang Road, Hutchinson Road north of Michigan Avenue and Marcellus Road as where they want to focus on repairs first. Work is not expected to start until the Spring of 2022.
