LAGRANGE, IN - Farmers State Bank has made a huge commitment financially to several area school’s athletic programs.
As a part of FSB’s mission “to make a difference” in the communities they serve, the bank committed $300-thousand dollars to local student athletes for the upcoming school year. As officials with the bank became aware of challenges that many school corporations were facing relative to funding sports programs, they devised a plan with area athletic directors to help fill some of the financial gaps.
Many school sports programs took a financial hit during last year’s challenges with the COVID-19 Pandemic, especially with the lack of ticket sales and concession sales resulting from fan restrictions during games for multiple sports.
Farmers State Bank President and CEO, Joe Urbanski, noted, “FSB believes our school sports programs are vital to the growth and development of our future leaders, and we are excited that this support is FSB’s largest sponsorship initiative ever. FSB is glad to be the #1 sponsor of our area student athletes, and we look forward to seeing the difference this program has on the communities we serve.”
Farmers State Bank is giving $75-thousand dollars to 8 local schools (7 in Indiana, and 1 in Michigan) over the next 6 years. These funds will be used to benefit hundreds of athletes on multiple athletic teams.
