LAGRANGE – High School students in Northeast Indiana will have a new way to learn for the 2021-22 school year.
The Lakeland School Corporation is presenting the Lakeland Cyber Academy of Northeast Indiana. It's a new way to do on line learning, and was born out of the COVID-19 pandemic as Academy Director Robert Albaugh explains the pandemic forced Lakeland and other school districts into learning how to do online learning correctly. He said Lakeland made some mistakes and learned from them to make a better product that is now going to be offered to students in grades 9-12 for a chance to learn on line.
Albaugh says the Cyber Academy allows for students to take some classes in person as well as on line. If you want to do the IMPACT Class, take and arts or music class, be a part of building trades or participate in athletics, you can as a member of the Cyber Academy, which is a true blended learning
opportunity for students. Albaugh says the Cyber Academy is open to any high school student in LaGrange County and around Northeast Indiana.
An open house is being held tonight for students and their parents to get more information on the Cyber Academy. It begins at 6 PM and will be at the former Wolcott Mills Elementary School, 108 East Myers Street.
