BRONSON – Bronson Schools Superintendent Steve Wilson has given an update on the upcoming 2021-22 school year for the community.
In a posting Monday on the District's Facebook Page, Wilson shared that the new school year will start on Monday, August 23, and that he is excited to see what it brings. Wilson says the information that he is sharing could be subject to change, but it is the stance of the Bronson Community School as of right now. As of the posting, Wilson says all virtual learning will cease in the upcoming school year and Bronson Schools will return to a 100 percent face to face format. Data shows that those students who were face to face year around had bigger growth gains throughout the school year.
Additionally, the Bronson School District's official stance on masks will be for those who are not vaccinated to wear a mask, but masks will not be required to be worn at Bronson School buildings. Wilson says masks are always welcome to be worn by any individuals who feels they want to wear one, and it will not be discouraged. Wilson says the District would like to ask all of their parents to please continue screening their children at home before they come to school. The District also asks if they are having symptoms or are sick, please keep your children home.
Wilson says it's the hope of Bronson Schools to be able to resume assemblies, dances and other activities for the 2021-22 school year, if not at full strength, at least in some capacity. It's also the District's hope that capacity limits are gone and they no longer have to limit the number of people who can attend school functions.
